Their own knowledge-base article for the Auto-Scheduler (Beta) lists what has to be in place before it will run:

Their December 2025 announcement says the AI tools suggest shift schedules or reassignments to keep teams running smoothly, and that Business owners and managers maintain oversight, reviewing AI recommendations and actions as needed.
That is a review step, and we are not calling it a fault. A great many owners want one. It is simply a different thing from being handed a finished week.
On their own pricing page, AI-powered Scheduling sits on the Plus plan: one tier above their entry paid plan, two above their free one.

It is a constraint solver, not a model that learns from your past, so there is no training window to fill: it works the week you hand it, on the first day you hand it one.

Straight answers
And what Evenlot is not.
Five things worth knowing before you spend anything.
It cannot invent staff.If the people on your roster cannot cover the hours you have set, it names the shifts that are short and why, rather than quietly filling them. That is a real answer, and sometimes it is the answer.
It is a scheduler, not a back office.No payroll, no hiring, no POS or till feed. There is a time clock (a PIN kiosk, punches and a weekly timesheet) because the week is what it measures. Every all-in-one on the market does more things than we do. We do the week.
It reads split shifts. It does not generate them.Upload a week with a 10:00–14:00 and a 17:00–21:00 on one person and Evenlot reads it: the hours are summed from the two blocks, the unpaid gap between them is not counted as worked time, and the split is scored when we check ourselves against your history. A week Evenlot builds gives each person at most one shift a day, so it will not hand that split back to you.
PDF import is beta.Excel and CSV are solid. While PDF is in beta a scanned or unusually laid-out one may come back partly read. We say so at the time, rather than handing you a half-empty roster to discover later.
There is no free tier.Below roughly twenty-five staff at a single location, a per-person tool or a cheaper flat plan will usually work out less. We would rather you knew that now than found it in month two.
